4-Week Wheel Throwing Pottery Class (Chicago) — Tuesdays

Looking for more than a one-off class?

This 4-week series is your chance to slow down, get your hands messy, and learn to throw with intention. With only two wheels in the studio, classes stay small and personal, giving you plenty of one-on-one guidance while learning alongside another maker. Whether your goal is a set of matching mugs, a handmade bowl, or just getting more confident on the wheel, each session is paced to support your pottery journey. We'll curate to your goal and skill-level.

Each week builds on the last: two sessions throwing on the wheel, one session to trim your work, and the final session for glazing. You’ll leave with pottery that feels like you — meaningful, one-of-a-kind, and full of memory.

Schedule: Tuesdays @ 5:30pm – 8:00pm (2.5 hrs)

What’s Included

✨ Up to 10lbs of clay! Most beginners walk away with anywhere from 5–9 pieces — think cups, bowls, mugs, and a few surprises you didn’t know you could make. Additional clay can be purchased at $2/lb).

✨ A lineup of glazes that go way beyond the boring basics

✨ All tools, materials, and firings

✨ Finished pottery, ready to pick up in 4–6 weeks

✨ A relaxed studio vibe with good music — oh, and handmade cups on standby if you’d like to BYOB.

New this month: We’re introducing an optional Open Studio add-on for anyone who wants a little more time on the wheel outside of class.

Open Studio will run Thursdays from 11–1pm and 2–4pm. Spots are first come, first served at $35 per session. More details to come once registered for the monthly series.

📅 Booking Policy

Seats are limited (two per class). Because each seat requires preparation and planning, all purchases are final and non-refundable. Please be sure you can attend before reserving your spot. If you can’t make your monthly series, it’s okay to find someone to take your place for the entire series. We aren’t able to find a replacement for you or fill individual missed classes. Thank you for understanding and for supporting a small studio — policies like this allow me to keep classes intimate, consistent, and accessible.
