Open Studio — Current Students Only

Self-guided studio time for current Casa Valente students who want extra time at the wheel outside of class.

Open Studio is independent work time (not instruction)

What’s Included

• Scheduled access for throwing on the wheel

• Use of studio tools and equipment

• Clay from your existing class allotment (10 lbs total)

• Bisque + glaze firing for work made during Open Studio
  

Clay Policy

• Open Studio clay counts toward your 10 lb class allotment

• Clay usage will be tracked alongside your class work

• Additional clay is available for $2 per pound, added to your class count

How It Works

• Open Studio is self-guided, I’ll be nearby but not actively teaching

• You clean your wheel, tools, and immediate workspace

• I handle final rinsing (our sink trap is sensitive), shared surfaces, and end-of-day cleanup

• Open Studio runs 2pm–4pm or 4:30pm–6:30pm, but you do not need to attend the full time (arrive late or leave early as needed)

• All work must be removed from bats, clearly labeled with your name, and placed on the designated shelves before leaving.

• Plan ahead for all work to be trimmed and bone-dry before the class bisque firing so that it can be ready for glazing. 

Scheduling & Policies

• Open Studio is limited and must be booked 24 hours in advance

• Changes must be made 48 hours before your session, email casavalentestudio@gmail.com

• Missed sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable
